About Me

I started my sewing journey at 15 in a small dressmaking shop in Hopkinton, NH. Even though I had never threaded a needle, I wanted to make a unique dress for my 9th-grade semi-formal. My wonderful mom took me to Evergreen Fabrics and Dressmaking, where I was fortunate enough to meet Diane and learn from the best seamstress and teacher in the industry. My love for sewing was immediate, and I continued my lessons throughout high school, spending most afternoons sewing beautiful creations in Diane’s shop.

After high school, I attended UNH as a biology major and spent my summers working in the basement of a local bridal shop, altering bridal and special occasion dresses. Thinking my career path would lead me to something in the medical field, and I got a job at Concord Hospital working in the lab as a lab tech and phlebotomist. In 1999, while still employed at the hospital, I received a phone call from the bridal shop’s new owner asking if they could contract my services. After meeting with her, I took some dresses home to work on over the weekend and figured it would be a fun way to make some extra cash. This was the beginning of what would eventually become the flourishing sewing business that I ran from my Concord home until 2012.

I met my future husband, Eric, and moved to Meredith, NH, in 2009. I continued running my business for about a year after moving, but adding a commute to my already busy schedule was getting too much. After all the customers already in my schedule were taken care of, I decided to take time off from working outside the home and concentrate on my work as a mother to my three amazing sons: Jonathan, Scottie, and Levi.

My sewing machine never retired, as I’ve taken on jobs as my schedule allowed and continued making clothes and doing other fun projects. I look forward to working again with brides, bridal parties, prom attendees, and anyone else with a special occasion dress to be confident and comfortable.
